A SPIRITED PAST

Regarded as a unique area for centuries now, Telluride served as a summer camp for the Ute Indians for centuries. Named by Spanish explorers in the 1700s, the San Juan Mountains eventually saw the mining era establish itself, shortly followed by the arrival of the ski industry. Today, Telluride is regarded as the best ski resort in the country according to Ski Magazine and is one of the most incredible mountain destinations anywhere in the world. Throughout its history, the residents of Telluride have embraced the frontier spirit, a warm, friendly attitude and an appreciation for the adventure that this place has to offer.
